Nick Elliott
IFA Board Member
Like many, Nick is a lifelong participant and a believer in the physical and mental health benefits that can come from engaging in sport. The role that sport can also play in contributing to education and social outcomes is well documented: developing a mentality for life; bringing together individuals and families from different backgrounds; empowering disenfranchised, traumatised or marginalised people; and promoting diversity and inclusion are just some of the outcomes it can and should help create.
As the parent of two committed and passionate footballers, Nick has experience of the football environment in Australia and overseas, and has seen first-hand the benefits of training with high-quality, independent football providers: “The vibrancy and multi-cultural diversity of the independent coaching market should have a voice as part of our national football identity. Providers play an important role in developing players of all backgrounds and abilities and providing additional career pathways for coaches."
In his professional life, Nick is an independent strategy consultant and qualified non-executive director. Operating across both business and non-profit sectors, Nick has a deep understanding of sustainability and purpose and spends his time exploring new ways to deliver impact and create a fairer, more sustainable world in a free-market environment. In addition to his consulting work, Nick is currently a non-executive director of a UK-based ESG software start-up and a Singapore-based social enterprise incubator and hub.
